David Collins, EMT – P

Chief Tactical Medical Instructor

Lt. Collins is a member of the City of Marietta Police Department S.W.A.T. team and co-founder of the Tactical Emergency Medical Support unit for Marietta P.D. Before coming to Georgia, David Collins was a founding member of the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department Tactical Emergency Medical Services Unit which coordinated with Sacramento County Sheriff S.W.A.T.

Lt. Collins is an instructor with Tactical Specialties Incorporated specializing in tactical combat casualty care and tactical operations. He has served as a police officer paramedic and firefighter paramedic since 1991.

Lt. Collins is an active member of the Georgia Tactical Officer’s Association, and the National Tactical Officer’s Association. He is a Georgia POST certified Senior Instructor, and holds additional instructor certifications in Firearms, Defensive Tactics, and Emergency Medical.

With over 20 years of experience in the field as a Paramedic he has created tactical medical training programs for Marietta Police Department S.W.A.T team and TEMS unit with an emphasis on training S.W.A.T. operators in tactical medicine.

Lt. Collins has participated as a subject matter expert in the development of the nationally recognized Board Certification examination for Tactical Medics (TP-C).
